I had the opportunity to complete this large-scale mural in a prominent area of the main street of Tamworth, turning an alleyway into a "Little Malta" of sorts.
I featured my mother, Stella, who was born in Malta, and my older brother Peter, enjoying a coffee and pastizzi in the old country.
I was excited to celebrate our Mediterranean roots, as well as the diverse origins of many people in our community. I was also excited to create something that gives a 3D illusion feel, with the mural being in perspective, ie. things which are up high you can see the bottom of, and things which are low you can see the top of.
